Renewable Energy Experts
Here at Cactus Energy, we know that the transition to renewable power is inevitable. It’s not a question of if, but when. Not only are renewables vital in reducing carbon emissions and fighting climate change, but they will eventually become the only option for energy production. While solar and wind energy are getting cheaper by the week, oil and gas are getting more and more expensive. One day, they will run out completely.
Years of Expertise
Our first ever customer was Povey’s Oatcakes. Their factory in Staffordshire runs 24/7 to produce 1700 packets of oatcakes a day. Unsurprisingly, this requires quite a bit of electricity. We designed and managed the installation of an 11 kW solar panel system which cut their energy bills by 45% and saves them over 5 tonnes of CO2 a year. We’re still in touch with Povey’s today, advising them on ways to improve their energy efficiency and developing other solutions for their properties.
Since those early days, the Cactus Energy team has grown and we now pull expertise from a wealth of knowledge and a wide range of skill sets. We’ve completed projects up and down the UK on all sorts of properties – houses, factories, schools, hospitals, farms, and even shipping containers!
Whether we’re working with residential clients on a new build eco-house or Neptune, one of the UK’s largest furniture companies, our expertise ensures we deliver the most efficient and cost-effective renewable energy solution possible.
Why 'Cactus'?
Cacti plants harvest energy from sunlight, just like solar panels. Both gather light energy and convert it into a usable energy form – cacti produce stored chemical energy and solar panels produce electrical energy.
The cactus is also a symbol of endurance, strength and resilience, known for its ability to adapt and thrive in trying environments. We all need to be more cactus. The climate is changing, bringing increasingly harsh conditions. Let’s adapt, work with the planet rather than against it, so we can thrive and grow stronger.
